Dr. Kalvin Eaton Biography

Dr. Kalvin Eaton became the Superintendent of Marengo County Schools on May 23, 2024. Dr. Eaton has  20 years of experience in public education and has served as a principal mentor for 4 years, a principal for 12 years, and an assistant principal for 4 years in the Jefferson County School District. Dr. Eaton began his career as a middle school physical education teacher in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. 

Dr. Eaton earned an Ed.D. Educational Leadership from Samford University, an Educational  Specialist Degree and Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama, and a Bachelor’s in Physical Education from Stillman College.  Additionally, Dr. Eaton received his Superintendent certification from the University of Alabama.   A native of Mobile, Al, he graduated from Blount High School.  

Dr. Eaton is known as a visionary instructional leader focused on student achievement and educational opportunities. His commitment to life-long learning and public service has a proven track record of results, integrity, and excellence, and his experience will guide the current and foreseeable future needs of Marengo County School District. Dr. Eaton has a comprehensive background in communication, organizational leadership, instruction, governance, community engagement, and partnerships, aligning resources with complex budgets, and fostering respectful and productive relationships with labor associations.

Dr. Eaton is a proud husband to his wife, Danielle, and three beautiful school-age children.  He enjoys coaching, attending his children's events, and spending time with friends and family.
